Social Studies

Social Studies teachers use the social studies TEKS and big idea Essential Questions to guide the study of the history of the United States from the exploration period through the 21st century. The social studies standards also require students to problem solve and use critical thinking skills to construct and understand their knowledge of history, geography, economics, government, citizenship, culture, science and technology. Social studies content is taught and applied using role-play, graphic note-taking, group work, and web-based programs.
